CVE-2026-115207A flaw was found in GNU patch
Executive summaryA flaw in GNU patch lets an attacker create files in arbitrary locations on a system when a user or automated workflow applies a specially crafted patch file. The advisory rates it as a Red Hat CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.5 (Medium), and it states that no mitigation is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria. Technical summaryThe weakness is classified as CWE-22 path traversal, caused by missing validation during automatic patch reversal that lets absolute file paths in patch headers be accepted. The attack is local (AV:L) with low complexity, requires no privileges, and needs user interaction, such as applying a crafted patch file. The advisory's CVSS vector is CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N. Affected and fixed versions are not stated in the text provided. No workarounds are given, and the advisory says mitigation is either not available or does not meet Red Hat's criteria. No detection guidance is stated. Summaries are generated by AI from the linked advisory text. Confirm versions and fixes at the source. From the advisoryGNU LibreDWG through 0.14.8612 contains a global out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the AcDs decoder acds_private() that allows attackers to read beyond a static table via an unchecked schema property type index. Attackers can supply a crafted R2004 or R2010+ DWG file with a large 'schdat' property type value to crash dwgread, dwg2dxf, or any application using LibreDWG. GNU Aspell 0.60.8.2 (first vulnerable version is not known) contains a heap-based buffer overflow write (CWE-122) in its read-only dictionary loader

CVE-2026-103658GNU Aspell 0.60.8.2 (first vulnerable version is not known) contains a heap-based buffer overflow write (CWE-122) in its read-only dictionary loader
From the advisoryGNU Aspell 0.60.8.2 (first vulnerable version is not known) contains a heap-based buffer overflow write (CWE-122) in its read-only dictionary loader. String::reserve() in common/string.hpp computes its capacity check with a signed int ((int)s + 1), so a requested size of 0x7FFFFFFF wraps negative and the backing buffer is never grown. ReadOnlyDict::load() in modules/speller/default/readonly_ws.cpp passes the unvalidated 32-bit size fields from a .rws dictionary header into this path, so a crafted .rws file with a valid endian marker (12345678) and an oversized length field (e.g. lang_name_size = 0x7FFFFFFF) causes attacker-controlled data to be written out of bounds past an undersized heap allocation. An attacker who induces a victim to load a malicious dictionary — for example via aspell dump master <file> — can corrupt heap memory, resulting in denial of service and potentially code execution. Fixed in b830b6e and will be fixed in release 0.60.8.3. Impact if exploitedConfidentialityLow IntegrityLow AvailabilityLow

CVE-2026-75820GNU Aspell contains an integer truncation vulnerability in the WritableDict::add() function in modules/speller/default/writable.cpp
From the advisoryGNU Aspell contains an integer truncation vulnerability in the WritableDict::add() function in modules/speller/default/writable.cpp. When loading a personal wordlist, the word length is stored as a single byte, causing truncation for words whose length is a multiple of 256. This leads to heap corruption. An attacker can exploit this by convincing a user to run aspell with a crafted personal wordlist containing such a word, resulting in denial of service. This issue was fixed in commit 782ce94e4dc71eaec4ee1bd945eb3b9c47c5387d which will be released in version 0.60.8.3. Impact if exploitedConfidentialityNone IntegrityNone AvailabilityLow

CVE-2026-75819GNU Aspell contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in ReadOnlyDict::load() in readonly_ws.cpp
From the advisoryGNU Aspell contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in ReadOnlyDict::load() in readonly_ws.cpp. When loading a binary .rws dictionary file, it uses offset fields from the file header as byte indices into a heap buffer without validating their bounds. An attacker can trigger this by convincing a user to run aspell with a crafted dictionary file supplied through --master, --dict-dir, or configuration options, leading to heap memory disclosure or a denial of service via application crash. This issue was fixed in commit 941953b25031bc9104e83f58e138a664b8dedc3f which will be released in version 0.60.8.3. Impact if exploitedConfidentialityNone IntegrityNone AvailabilityLow

CVE-2026-75818GNU Aspell prezip-bin contains a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the decompressor in prog/prezip.c
From the advisoryGNU Aspell prezip-bin contains a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the decompressor in prog/prezip.c. The decompressor does not properly check buffer space, so a crafted compressed file can cause out-of-bounds read and write operations on the heap. An attacker who convinces a user to process a malicious compressed file with prezip-bin can trigger memory corruption, leading to a processs crash. This issue was fixed in commit 15b188437f9e0192d4ac4472ad66a4e2f62a782f which will be released in version 0.60.8.3. Impact if exploitedConfidentialityNone IntegrityNone AvailabilityLow

From the advisoryA local attacker with control over GRUB's configuration can bypass lockdown restrictions when booting with Secure Boot and load an unsigned GRUB module, while GRUB continues to report lockdown is enabled. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient validation of the MMIO base address passed to the GRUB serial command. GRUB does not validate that the base address corresponds to a UART device, rather than being an arbitrary memory address. This allows an attacker to trick GRUB into writing non-arbitrary data at an attacker-controlled address, including resetting the grub_file_verifiers list in a way that disables the subsequent verification of loaded modules.
